Full Mouth Dental Implants by Dr Nikhil Oberai

Losing most or all of your teeth is one of the most significant things that can happen to your confidence and your quality of life, but it does not have to be permanent. I offer fixed, complete smile restorations that give people their lives back.

Living without a full set of teeth changes everything, and not just in the obvious ways

The patients I see for full mouth reconstruction have often been living with the situation for years before they come to see me. They have adapted to the point where the adaptations feel normal. They have stopped noticing how much they have quietly given up.

That process, of accepting the situation because no one told them anything better was possible, is one of the things I find most important to address. Because in the vast majority of cases, something significantly better is possible. And the sooner we have a conversation about it, the sooner your life starts to look different.

Does any of the points below sound familiar?

Eating has become one of the biggest challenges of your day

A proper meal, something with texture, something that requires chewing, is either difficult, uncomfortable, or simply off the table. The list of things you can eat without issue has narrowed considerably. You have adjusted, but it has cost you something.

Your confidence in public situations has changed fundamentally

Social eating. Meetings. Family gatherings. Situations that should be straightforward carry a background anxiety about your teeth, what people can see, what might slip, what might go wrong. It is exhausting to manage this constantly and most people do not realise how much energy it takes until it is gone.

You have been wearing dentures and they have never felt like a real solution

Dentures were supposed to answer the problem. For many patients they provided some function but never the confidence, the stability, or the feeling of having real teeth. The movement, the restricted diet, the adhesive, the removal every night, none of it is how it should be.

You have been told your bone loss makes implants impossible

This is the most common reason patients with extensive tooth loss arrive at my practice having already been turned away elsewhere. It is rarely as final as it has been presented. A full 3D scan of your jaw tells the real story, and the options available are often wider than patients have been led to believe.

The good news is, a complete fixed smile is possible for most patients, including complex cases.

Full mouth dental implant treatment replaces every tooth in the upper arch, lower arch, or both with a permanent, fixed set of implant-supported teeth. Nothing is removable. Nothing moves. You eat anything you want, clean them like natural teeth, and get on with your life without your teeth being a source of anxiety.

I have performed full mouth reconstructions on patients at every level of complexity. Straightforward cases, patients with significant bone loss, patients whose previous treatment has failed, and patients in their eighties who were told they were too old for implants. The outcomes are consistently life-changing. The word I hear most often at the post-treatment review is simply: free. People feel free.

What full mouth dental implant treatment actually means, in plain English

Full mouth restoration means replacing all the teeth in one or both jaws with fixed, implant-supported teeth. The approach depends on your specific clinical situation, how much bone is available, how many teeth remain, and what outcome you are looking for.

The most common approach is All-on-4, a full arch of fixed teeth supported by four strategically placed implants per jaw. For patients with more available bone, more implants may be used to provide additional support. For patients with more significant bone loss, advanced techniques including zygomatic implants remove the need for bone grafting entirely.

In all cases, I build the treatment plan around your specific anatomy, not a one-size approach. The goal is always the same: a permanent, fixed, natural-looking set of teeth that you never have to think about again.

Free 3D Smile Assessment

Your consultation is completely free and includes a full cone beam CT scan of both jaws. That scan gives me a precise picture of the bone available in each arch, the position of the nerves, and exactly which treatment approach is right for your situation. You leave with a written treatment plan and a complete cost breakdown to take home.

Full Case Assessment and Surgical Planning

Before any treatment is scheduled, I carry out a detailed review of your CT scan and plan the precise placement of every implant. I build a full surgical blueprint specific to your anatomy and walk you through every stage, including the day of surgery, the temporary teeth you will leave with, and the timeline to your permanent smile. Sedation is available throughout.

The procedure

Extractions and Implant Placement

On the day of surgery, any remaining teeth that cannot be retained are carefully removed and all implants are placed in the same appointment. For the Gold and Platinum packages, this follows the All-on-4 protocol. For the Zygomatic package, the implants are placed into the cheekbones. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic with sedation available.

Day surgery · 3 to 5 hours depending on case · Sedation available

While you recover

Temporary Fixed Bridge Fitted the Same Day

Before you leave, a full set of temporary fixed teeth is attached to the implants. Not a denture. A fixed bridge. You walk out with a complete, functional smile on the day of surgery. This is the Smile-in-a-Day protocol, and it is exactly as straightforward as it sounds.

Same day · Fixed · Functional · Complete

Healing and Integration

Over the following three to four months, the implants fuse fully with the surrounding bone. You carry on with your life as normal. I see you at regular intervals throughout healing and my team is available at any point.

Your Permanent Bridge is Fitted

Once healing is complete, your permanent fixed bridge is designed, crafted, and fitted. This is built for long-term function and aesthetics, the colour, shape, and proportion are all chosen to suit your face and your smile. The treatment journey is complete.

Here's what my patients tell me after treatment

I could list clinical advantages here. But the things my patients actually tell me about, the things that genuinely matter to them, are rather more specific than that.

They smile freely again

The self-consciousness goes. Completely. Not gradually, completely. They stop thinking about the angle in photos. They stop holding their expression back. They get their smile back, and they stop giving it a second thought.

Their surrounding teeth stay exactly as they are

Unlike a bridge, which requires the adjacent healthy teeth to be significantly ground down, an implant stands completely independently. I never touch a tooth that doesn't need to be touched.

They eat whatever they like

Steak. Crusty bread. Apples. Everything they'd quietly been avoiding comes back on the menu. An implant handles the same biting and chewing forces as a natural tooth, with no restrictions and no second-guessing.

Their jawbone stays healthy

When a tooth root is lost, the bone beneath begins to shrink — gradually changing the structure of the jaw. An implant stimulates the bone exactly the way a natural root does. That process stops. The face maintains its natural shape.

It's the last tooth replacement they'll ever need

With normal brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups, the titanium root of a dental implant can last a lifetime. I'm not asking you to manage it, replace it, or think about it again. That's the point.

I'm Dr Nikhil Oberai MSC & Dental Implants are all I do

Full mouth reconstruction is the most significant procedure in implant dentistry. It requires the highest level of surgical planning, the deepest understanding of bone anatomy, and the experience to manage complexity when it arises. This is work I have been doing for over a decade, using techniques I teach at Masters level at the University of Manchester.

I take on full mouth cases that other practices have turned away. Patients with significant bone loss, patients whose previous full arch treatment has failed, patients who have been told in unequivocal terms that implants are not possible for them. In the majority of cases I find a viable route forward. I will always tell you honestly what I find before you make any decisions.

“For every problem, there is a solution. It might be challenging but it is almost always possible.”

Common questions my patients ask me about full mouth dental implants

Here are the questions our Full Mouth Dental implant patients ask most often — answered honestly and in plain language.

At my practices in Northwich and Wilmslow, full mouth treatment starts from £11,500 per arch on the Gold Package, £19,500 for both arches on the Platinum Package, and £20,000 for the Zygomatic Package for patients with extensive bone loss. Your exact written cost is confirmed at the free 3D Smile Assessment. 0% finance through Tabeo is available.

The Gold Package replaces one arch, upper or lower, using four implants and a fixed bridge. The Platinum Package replaces both arches. The Zygomatic Package is for patients with severe upper jaw bone loss where standard implants are not possible, implants are placed into the cheekbones instead, bypassing the area of bone loss entirely and removing the need for bone grafting.

Possibly yes, even with significant bone loss. The All-on-4 technique uses angled implants to maximise available bone. Where bone loss is more severe, zygomatic implants bypass the upper jaw entirely. The free 3D CT scan gives a precise answer for your anatomy, not an assumption.

Yes. There is no upper age limit for full mouth dental implant treatment. I have treated patients in their eighties and nineties successfully. What matters is general health, not age. Your free assessment will confirm whether implants are the right approach for your specific situation.

It is carried out under local anaesthetic with sedation available. Most patients tell me the experience was more manageable than they had expected. There is typically some swelling and discomfort in the days following surgery, which is managed with pain relief and detailed aftercare guidance from my team.

Yes, where clinically appropriate, the Smile-in-a-Day protocol means a fixed temporary bridge is placed on the day of surgery. You arrive at the practice without a functional smile and you leave with one. The permanent bridge follows after the healing period.

I would encourage you to come and find out for certain. The patients I find most rewarding to treat are the ones who were told that and left that conversation believing the answer was fixed. In a significant number of cases, particularly with the Zygomatic Package, a solution exists that the previous clinician was not able to offer. Come and let me take a proper look.
