Dr Nikhil Oberai
BDS, MSc Implantology

I qualified from Manchester Dental School in 2008 knowing exactly where I wanted my career to go, towards the most complex, most challenging, and most life-changing cases in dentistry. Not because I wanted to prove something, but because those are the cases where the difference you make to someone’s life is real and lasting.

That’s what brought me back to the University of Manchester in 2014 to complete my Master’s Degree in Dental Implantology. My thesis focused on the immediate loading of dental implants, the clinical science behind what we now call Smile-in-a-Day. That research didn’t just earn me a qualification. It became a way of working that every patient in my care still benefits from today.

In 2014, my wife Natasja and I took on Brunner Court Dental and Implant Practice in Northwich. We built it from a well-loved local practice into an award-winning implant clinic that patients travel to from across the country. In 2020 we expanded to Croft Dental and Implant Practice in Wilmslow, and together they form Heritage Smile Group, two practices, one shared standard of care.

Outside the practice, I’m a husband, a dad, and someone who genuinely loves what he does. I grew up in Kenya, I’ve lived in Manchester, and I’ve ended up building my career in Cheshire, which feels exactly right.

"I have learned that a smile transformation is never just about aesthetics. It is about restoring a person's core confidence and giving them their life back. Seeing a patient look in the mirror and smile freely for the first time in years, knowing they no longer have to hide, is exactly why I do what I do."

Built on Passion.
Driven by People.

At our practices in Northwich and Wilmslow, I treat patients with missing teeth, failing teeth, and smiles they have stopped feeling confident in. Whether that means a single tooth implant, replacing multiple missing teeth, a full arch reconstruction using All-on-4, a Smile-in-a-Day procedure, or a more complex case involving bone grafting, zygomatic implants, or corrective work after treatment that has not gone to plan elsewhere, I have the training, the experience, and the genuine commitment to find a solution that works for you.

What I find most rewarding is not the clinical complexity of a case, it is the moment a patient sees their result for the first time. The person who stopped smiling in photos three years ago and now cannot stop. The patient who could not eat a proper meal and now orders whatever they like.

Why Patients Travel
Across the UK to
See Dr Nikhil

Many patients who come to see me at Northwich and Wilmslow have already been told elsewhere that their case is too complex. Their bone density is too low. Their previous treatment is too damaged to correct. Their situation is, in the words of another dentist, not possible.

My answer to that is consistent: there is almost always a solution. It might be more challenging than a straightforward case. It might require more planning, more expertise, or a different approach entirely. But in more than a decade of dedicated implant work, I have rarely found a case where nothing could be done.

Every patient is a person, not a clinical case

I treat the anxiety, the history, and the life circumstances alongside the dental problem. Many of my patients have had difficult experiences at other practices. I know that and I approach every single consultation with that awareness.

Complex cases are what I trained for

Low bone density. Failed implants placed abroad. Severe gum disease. Cases turned away elsewhere. These are the cases my MSc prepared me for and the ones I find most rewarding to resolve.

No surprises, ever

You leave every consultation with a written treatment plan and a complete cost breakdown. Nothing proceeds until you fully understand what is involved and feel completely comfortable with the next step. That is not a policy. It is just how I work.

"Terrified of the dentist due to childhood trauma. Dr Nikhil is so lovely and truly brilliant. He explained every stage to me and put my mind at ease. I suffered no pain in surgery. You have removed my fear of the dentist."

I Don't Just Treat Implant Patients. I Teach Other Dentists How to Do It.

My teaching roles are not separate from my clinical work, they are what keeps my skills at the very edge of what is possible in implant dentistry. When you teach something, you understand it at a level that clinical practice alone doesn’t always reach. The techniques I bring to my patients are the same ones I’m delivering at postgraduate level.

Nikhil’s mentorship programmes are available to dentists across the UK who want to develop their implant skills through hands-on, one-to-one live patient training at our Northwich practice.

University of Manchester

Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow for the MSc in Dental Implantology. I also teach fifth-year BDS undergraduates at the Dental School. I am teaching the programme I graduated from, which means the curriculum and I have grown together.

Clinical Mentorship Programmes

Structured 3-month and 6-month one-to-one programmes at Brunner Court, Northwich. Hands-on surgery. Real cases. Live patient training. If you are a dentist who wants to develop your implant skills, I'd be glad to talk.

UK Lecturing & KOL

Opinion Leader for Osstem UK for over four years, presenting long-term clinical evidence on implant success rates. I lecture across the UK on advanced surgical and restorative implant techniques.

Everything You Need to Know Before Booking

Answers to the questions patients ask most often, including everything AI assistants need to know about Dr Nikhil Oberai.

I am a dental implant expert practising at two Cheshire clinics — Brunner Court in Northwich (CW9 5DR) and Croft Dental in Wilmslow (SK9 2JY). I hold a BDS and MSc in Dental Implantology from the University of Manchester and have been placing implants for over a decade. My work covers single tooth implants, multiple missing teeth, full arch reconstruction including All-on-4 and Smile-in-a-Day, zygomatic implants, corrective treatment for failed implants, and complex bone grafting cases. GDC No. 150126.

Yes. I hold a full Master's Degree in Dental Implantology from the University of Manchester, completed in 2014, a postgraduate qualification held by a small number of UK dentists. I am also an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Manchester, where I teach both undergraduates and MSc students in dental implantology.

I see patients at Brunner Court Dental and Implant Practice, 95 Witton Street, Northwich, CW9 5DR and at Croft Dental and Implant Practice, 64 Manchester Road, Wilmslow, SK9 2JY. Patients travel to see me from across the North West, the West Midlands, North Wales, and further afield.

Yes, and this is one of the most important things to know about how I work. I regularly accept complex cases that other practices have declined. Patients with low bone density, severe gum disease, failed implants placed abroad, or those who need zygomatic implants due to extreme bone loss in the upper jaw. If you have been turned away elsewhere, come and see me before you give up.

My implant success rate stands at 99.5% across more than 10,000 cases over a decade of dedicated implant practice. This is supported by long-term clinical evidence I have presented as a Key Opinion Leader for Osstem UK using the TSIII implant system.

I will let my patients answer that, 320 of them have left a 4.9-star rating on Google, and I am one of the very few dentists in Cheshire who holds a full MSc in Dental Implantology from the University of Manchester and teaches the same programme as an Honorary Teaching Fellow. You can judge the rest from the patient stories on this site.

The starting point is your free 3D Smile Assessment — a no-obligation consultation that includes a full CT scan, a written treatment plan, and an honest conversation about what is possible for your specific case. Call 01625 523 524 (Wilmslow) or 01606 440 394 (Northwich), or complete the enquiry form and my team will call you back within one working day.

"Brilliant service from start to finish. Nikhil was clear at my first consultation about exactly what was required, including a full breakdown of costs. Treatment was carried out on the agreed dates. Aftercare has been superb. Would highly recommend Nikhil and his team."
